Best Patios for Happy Hour
Ready to enjoy the weather while sipping your favorite beverage on a nearby patio? Below are a few great happy hour spots close to home. Whether you’re looking for a weekend spot to hit after gardening in your yard or doing a hike, or planning on a week-night happy hour after work, grab a seat on one of these pub patios and enjoy a cold one.
20 Mile Tap House
This Parker eatery gets rave reviews for its drink specials, beer selection and fresh food. Sit on the covered patio and enjoy views of the Front Range while you make the most of happy hour, which is daily from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu features traditional bar treats like poppers, onion rings and wings, as well as fresh local favorites such as the fish tacos, tri-tip sliders and barbeque chicken salad. The beer selection includes a variety of imports and local microbrews.
Elk Mountain Brewing
This craft brewery specializes in German beers with a twist. Their many microbrews include the bright, crisp Mine Shaft Kolsch, the vibrant, award-winning Wild Wapiti Wheat, and the malty Rock Slide Amber. The Ghost Town Brown, with hints of toasted hazelnut and butterscotch, has also won awards. Make sure you find out which seasonal beers are available when you’re there, and keep in mind that if you find a favorite, once you’re done sipping on the patio you can take some home in a growler or keg to go. If you want something to eat, along with tasty (and free) popcorn, there’s a food truck parked outside. And if you’re there with kids, there’s an array of board games and two pool tables to keep them entertained.
Gibby’s Big Backyard Sports Bar & Grill
Gibby’s boasts one of the largest outdoor areas in Denver. In addition to a wide patio seating area, there are two sand volleyball courts. In between serves and spikes, you can choose a beer from 12 rotating taps and pick something tasty from the wide-ranging menu. Gibby’s offers a variety of salads, burgers and appetizers, along with favorites like the smoked pork Cubano sandwich, the chef’s club sandwich and the chimichanga.
And the volleyball courts are just the beginning of the games. There’s also a jukebox, two pool tables, air hockey and shuffle board. If you have kids with you, they’ll have no excuse for boredom.
